Investment and costs

The energy transition necessary to combat climate change and the electrification of energy uses such as transport will require a series of investments in the sector. Sustainable development goal number seven poses the challenge of providing universal access.

This section includes data on public and private investment made in energy infrastructure over time for different countries. Such investment has made it possible to increase access significantly. In addition, you will find estimates of the investments that must be made between now and 2030 to meet both the universal access goal and the goal of reducing the emissions required to counteract climate change.

The methodological details of each analysis and the downloadable database are at your disposal in each indicator.
